Doris K. Piersol of Downingtown Doris K. Piersol, 78, of Downingtown, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at Brandywine Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Ronald E. Piersol, Sr., with whom she had shared 50 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2005. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Florence Craig Dawson. Growing up, she was known to her friends as Dorie Dawson. A homemaker most of her life, Doris was considered by her family to be an "old school housewife" who also loved watching her favorite soap operas. A devoted and loving mother, she enjoyed taking care of everyone who entered her home, and never left a glass unfilled. She was always a positive person and never had a negative thing to say about anyone. She was a very sweet person and was loved by all who knew her. Mrs. Piersol is survived by her children, Ronald E. Piersol, Jr. (Victoria J.), Timothy B. Piersol, and Patricia L. Vilcheck (Richard). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shawn Eshleman, Ryan Eshleman (Cynthia), Ashley Eshleman, Dillon Piersol and Jenna Piersol; and great-grandchildren, Paris, Lucas and Lily Eshleman, Ariana Mitchell and Deandre Crowder; brothers, James Dawson and Dr. John T. Dawson (Judy); sister, Bonita Fansler (Mervin); and by her mother-in-law, Vivian B. Piersol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Amanda L. Piersol. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23rd, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where relatives and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Northwood Cemetery, Downingtown.
