Edward Hoch Obituary

Edward E. Hoch of Berwyn Edward E. Hoch, 71, beloved husband and father, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. He was born in Collegeville, to Theodore and Catherine Hoch. Ed was a 1958 graduate of Collegeville Trappe HighSchool. He then proudly served in the U.S. Navy, aboard the CV-18 USS WASP. After active duty, he worked as a guard at Graterford Prison. In 1964 he became a Tredyffrin police officer and retired in 1994. Ed was a member of the F.O.P. Chester County Lodge 11, lifetime member of the NRA, West Caln Sportsman's Club, Lancaster Muzzle Loading Rifle Assoc. and the Colt Collector Assoc. He was an avid history and antique firearms enthusiast, doing shows for many years. He is survived by his loving wife Norine of 34 years, who runs the Anything & Everything Shop in Berwyn. Ed is also survived by his children, Dawn, Edward Jr. (Kathie), Richard Hoch, and Michelle Auch; stepchildren, Edward and James Guillermin and Laurie (Edward) Holzapfel; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Errington; and many nieces and nephews. Ed will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a true Patriot and loved the United States of America. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service honoring Ed at 1 p.m. on Thurs. August 9, at Paoli Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Valley Rd., Paoli. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made in Ed's honor to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are with Alleva Funeral Home, Inc. Paoli.
