Edwin L. 'Jeep' Williams Sr. of Kennett Square Edwin L. "Jeep" Williams, Sr., 90, died Saturday October 6, 2012 at the Pocopson Home in West Chester. He was the husband of Frances Hogan Williams with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Edwardsville, Pa., he was the son of the late William and the late Catherine (Kirwan) Williams. He served our country during World War II in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945 and in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He was the owner of Williams Radio and TV in Kingston, Pa. from 1965 to 1981. Edwin was a former member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Kingston, Pa. He was also a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 395 and the Lions Club of Kingston/Forty Fort where he served as president from 1972 to 1973. He enjoyed serving his community and parish and was a participant and leader of numerous charity and fund raising events. Survivors include, in addition to his wife, one daughter, Catherine Williams of Kennett Square; two sons, Edwin L. Williams, Jr. and his wife Kathleen (Nolan) of Sinking Spring, Pa. and G. Patrick Williams of Edwardsville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Rudy, Jonathan, Ryan and Hannah and one great- grandchild, Tucker James Hess. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and George, and one sister, Mary. You are invited to celebrate Edwin's life at a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 2700 St. Albans Drive, West Lawn, PA 19609. A reception for Edwin's family and friends will immediately follow the service.
