Elizabeth Horning Obituary
Elizabeth Horning (nee Kelly), 91, of West Chester, and former longtime resident of Drexel Hill, passed away on Nov. 2, 2012.
She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Horning Sr., loving mother of the late William J. Jr., the late Mary L. Harley, Charles F. (Sally) of Elverson, Joseph M. (Patricia) of Morton, Elizabeth L. Eddins (Dennis) of West Chester, Carol Anne Fleming and Kathleen Martin (Dennis) of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Therese Cooling of Newtown Square. She was the cherished grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of many. She was the dear sister of Richard, Robert, and Edward, and the late John and Joseph Kelly.
Mrs. Horning was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was a member of the Women's Guild of Transfiguration parish and West Catholic Boys High School. She was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo, and later St. Dorothy's parishes. She participated in St. Charles Seniors and their Women's Auxillary, as well as many other groups. She held a strong devotion to Mary, and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Relatives and friends are invited to Elizabeth's Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Dororthy's Church, Township Line and Burmont roads, Drexel Hill. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Elizabeth's name may be made to St. Dorothy's Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
