Ernest Eugene Hicks, formerly of West Chester Ernest Eugene Hicks passed away on Dec. 10, 2012, at his home in Seattle, Washington. Ernie was born in West Chester on Sept. 15, 1951. After graduating from Kennett High School, Ernie joined the
United States Navy
where he served from 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1974. He then went to work for West Chester State College in their Chemistry Department. He later moved to Seattle, Washington where he worked as a landscape designer. Christmas was his favorite holiday. He will be remembered always for his beautiful handmade wooden tree ornaments. He loved working with wood and enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his former wife, Kina and their daughter Lauren, his sister, Charlotte and a host of family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Charles Ernest Hicks and Roena Tackett Hicks, his twin sisters, Marvia and Marlene and his baby sister, Trudy. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Jan. 19, at Milestone Events, 600 E. Market St., West Chester PA 19382. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the
