Eugene Powell Obituary

Eugene Scott Powell, formerly of Unionville Eugene Scott Powell, 90, of Narberth, formerly of Unionville, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of Elizabeth Mitchell Powell, who passed away in 1999, and with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Alfred and Phyllis Mattson Powell. He was a 1941 graduate of Unionville High School. He owned and operated Powell Brothers Plumbing and Heating in West Grove and Kennett Square, from 1948 to 1994. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Europe. Scotty was a past president of the Avon Grove Optimist Club and a member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church. He was a great athlete and was a member of the Kennett Square Baseball Hall of Fame. He is survived by one son, Eugene Scott Powell, Jr. of Narberth; one daughter, Sara Jean Cucciniello and her husband Daniel of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Daniel Cucciniello, Jr. and Michael Cucciniello., and two great-grandchildren. You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 6 to 8, Monday evening, Nov. 5, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square (Phone: 610-444-4116 ).
