Frederick Ashworth of West Chester Frederick Ashworth, 87, a longtime resident of West Chester, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit in West Chester. Born in Lawrence, Mass., he was the son of the late Walder and Marion Smith Ashworth. Fred was a graduate of Tower Hill School in Wilmington and received his BA degree from The University of Delaware in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. In recent years, Fred was a volunteer at The Chester County Hospital. He loved art, reading, history and conversations with family and friends. He will be missed by all. Fred is survived by his siblings, Virginia A. Sternberg and David H. Ashworth; nieces, Amy A. Kotlowski and Sue Ashworth; nephews, Richard and Robert Ashworth; and also leaves behind many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert W. Ashworth.
