George W. Butler Obituary
George W. Butler of Exton George W. Butler, 84, of Exton, passed away on Feb. 5, 2013 at The Wayne Center in Wayne. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late George Washington Butler, III and Lillian Marie Butler (nee Yeager). He was a graduate of Waverly High School, Penn State University and later in life graduated from Moody Bible College. Mr. Butler was a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1952. George was a member of the Community Lodge in Broomall since 1972, the Keystone Consistory in Scranton since 1979, a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the United States Navy League, and for the past 10 years a member of the Gideons International. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon since 1987. George is survived by his wife, Betty Jean (nee Bidwell) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; his sisters, Audrey Naylor of Factoryville, Pa. and Lilas Wagner of Middletown, Pa.; and his nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Victory Baptist Church, 531 E. Uwchlan Avenue, Chester Springs, followed by his Funeral Service at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow with a service at 12 noon, on Monday, Feb. 11, in the chapel at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, Pa.
