Gerald Anthony "Jerry" Zimmerman Obituary
Gerald Anthony "Jerry" Zimmerman, 84, of Malvern, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Paoli Hospital.
He was the husband of Mary H. Zimmerman with whom he spent 44 years of wonderful marriage.
He was born in Philadelphia, son of the late Gerald and Ruth Zimmerman. Upon graduation from Radnor High School, class of 1948, he served his country with honor during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy. For the next 40 years, he was an Overhead Transmission Section Supervisor for Philadelphia Electric Company.
A member of St Patrick's Church, he also contributed to his community by serving on the Malvern Borough Council from 1968-1970.
A long-standing member of the Wayne's Lions Club, he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from the Lion's Club International Foundation in 2004.
Jerry enjoyed photography in addition to hunting and spending time in his Poconos cabin.
Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by his brother, Conal and his wife, Marilyn of Coral Springs, Fla.; his son Mark and his wife Anne, Stewartstown, Pa.; his grandson Ryan, Baltimore, Md.; his granddaughter Eliese and her husband Chris, Arlington, Va.; plus many extended family members who loved him very much.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jerry's life celebration on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home 24 Monument Avenue Malvern, Pa., followed by his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Saint Patrick Church, 104 Channing Avenue, Malvern, Pa., where friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Saint Agnes Cemetery.
