Geraldine Nickle Obituary

Geraldine 'Gerri' Nickle of Kennett Square Geraldine "Gerri" Nickle (Knopf) passed away at her house on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Penn Valley, Gerri spent the last 40 years in the Kennett Square area. She matriculated from the Philadelphia College Museum of Art with a masters degree in fine arts education. Gerri worked for the Unionville Chadds Ford School district for over 20 years and retired in 2005. Gerri always enjoyed animals and was a proud supporter of the SPCA and Horse Rescue charities. Beloved sister and mother, she was predeceased by her sister Linda, mother Laura, and father Frank. She is survived by her sister, Andrea; sons Damon and Garth; daughter, Laura Lee; and four grandchildren. Services will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, at the Longwood Funeral Home of Matthew Genereux. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family would like to request donations to the Timberlake Horse Haven (http://timberlakehorsehaven.org/horses.html) in lieu of flowers.

Dear Gerri, you were my only friend when I moved into the Crossings when I was going through some difficult times. You were there for me when no one else was. I remember the good times when we laughed and you would correct my grammar. Always the teacher. I will miss you dearly.
