Hazelyn 'Lyn' Weaver of West Chester Hazelyn Myer Weaver, 88, died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at her home. She was the wife of Donald E. Weaver, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Lester N. and Ruth Kilhefner Myer. She was a graduate of Temple University ('46) and Villanova ('72) and held a masters in library science. She retired from the Chester County Library, where she was a librarian for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the bell choir. Lyn was a skilled seamstress and quilter. For many years she served as the local Girl Scout leader and participated in West Chester Women's Clubs. She and her husband were active in square dancing groups, duplicate bridge clubs and volunteered at the Chester County Hospital. She was also a member of the West Chester Golf and Country Club in the 9-holers group. In addition to her husband, Lyn is survived by three children, Donna Weaver Mountz and husband Douglas of Elverson, Lester 'Skip' Weaver and wife Kimberly of Glenmoore and Pamela Weaver Ring and husband Spencer of West Chester; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold K. Myer. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, at First Presbyterian Church, 130 W. Miner Street, West Chester, PA 19382, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private in Birmingham-Lafayette Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund at the above address.
