James Clark Obituary

James A. Clark, formerly of West Chester, Pa. James A. Clark of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of West Chester, Pa, died July 7, 2014, with family by his side. He was born May 13, 1923, in Philadelphia to Mary Constance & Frank Patrick Clark. He graduated from Tredyffrin Easttown High School in 1941 and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he graduated with an Engineering Degree from Drexel Institute of Technology. He was a registered engineer in Pennsylvania and Florida, & worked for 36 years for Johnson Matthey Ltd. He was a member of Espiritu Santo Roman Catholic Church, Safety Harbor, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vera Adelberger Clark; and their seven children, James (Marianne), of Lafayette, Colo.; Kathleen Connor (James) of Virginia; Stephen (Lynn), of Manasquan, N.J.; Frank (Donna) of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; Dennis (Lori), of Naugatuck, Conn.; Dorothy Stanfel (Larry) of Littleton, Colo.; and Michael (Pat) of Naples, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Mary Magness; and a brother, Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Berwyn, Pa., on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's name may be made to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation, at 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
