John Henry Baker III, 66, of Coatesville, passed away at the Brandywine Hospital on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.|
He was the husband of Gloria D. Scott Baker, with whom he shared 20 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John H. and Lila M. Black Baker II.
He was a graduate of Germanntown High School and matriculated at Norfolk State University with a concentration in business administration.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had been employed with the Kelsch Associates, VA Medical Center, and the Emmett Golden Hunt Memorial Chapel.
John was a loving caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brooks L. Hunphrey and Aaron J. Humphrey, both of Coatesville, and Okema D. Beauford and her husband, Leon, of Parkesburg; seven grandchildren; his sister, Mildred Davis of Philadelphia; mother-in-law, Ethel M. Scott of Coateville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Calvary Fellowship Church, 95 W. Devon Drive (Route 113), Downingtown.
Relatives and friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday.
Interment will be in the Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester.
