John Thomas Dolente of West Chester John Thomas Dolente, 60, son of Vincent Thomas and Margaret Mary Colnan Dolente, died on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at his home in West Chester. John is survived by three sisters, Mary Christina Dolente Palfelt of Adelaide, Australia, Jane Dolente DeBardeleben of West Chester, and Peg Dolente of Chadds Ford; and by his nephew, David Gottsegen and niece, Amy Gottsegen of Chadds Ford; and his brother-in-law, John T. DeBardeleben, who all grieve his passing. Born on Nov. 19, 1952 at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby, John was a 1970 graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and an alumnus of Villanova University. After his education, he was employed by Louis Dolente and Sons Construction Company, where he was responsible for heavy equipment maintenance, and by Lewis Automotive of West Chester, where he served for over 25 years as an ASE certified master technician and service manager. He was loved by colleagues and customers alike. John also was known as an award-winning photographer (who won many local competitions and published a book of extraordinary photos), a gourmet cook, a radio-controlled airplane enthusiast, and a gifted comic. Someone said of him, "If comedy were a shoot-out at high noon, John could get six punch lines into you before you ever drew your gun!"
