John F. "Jack" Ruggeri Obituary
John F. 'Jack' Ruggeri of West Chester John F. "Jack" Ruggeri, 83, of West Chester, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He shared 66 years of marriage with his wife, Catherine Wooldridge Ruggeri of West Chester. Born in Drexel Hill, he was the son of the late Roger Ruggeri and the late Christine Falcone Ruggeri. Jack attended West Chester High School and played football, basketball and baseball. He was a member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester. Jack was a hardworking man. He worked his entire life with automobiles; he built them, he sold them and serviced them. He started his career working on the assembly line at General Motors in Wilmington, Del. from 1950-1984. Jack also worked part-time with his brother Roger at Ruggeri's Gulf Station in West Chester and continued to work with his family at Ruggeri's General Sales Cadillac in West Chester until Oct. 2013. Jack was an avid sports fan and loved music, the theatre and spending time with his family. He was a people person who cared about everyone. In addition to his wife Catherine, he is survived by his children, Tonda R. Cockerham (Bill) of Parkesburg, Jacque R. Harvey (Butch) of West Chester, Jon F. Ruggeri (Kim) of West Chester, Perry L. Ruggeri of West Chester, Robin R. Catania (Andrew) of Coatesville; five grandchildren, Kevin, Jack, Jason Josh, Katie; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Frances McKay (Jack) of West Chester. He was preceded in death by his siblings, twin brother Joseph, Roger, Rose and George. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service, 12 noon on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, where visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chester County Hospital, 701 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
