Katherine Thompson Obituary

Katherine A. Thompson of Oxford Katherine A. Thompson, 92, of Oxford, passed on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford. Born in Media, she was the daughter of the late Edward D. and Anna Gallagher Moore. She was the wife of the late William R. Thompson, Sr. Katherine lived in Oxford all of her life and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church. She was also a member of the Young at Heart, Union fire Co. Auxiliary and the Senior Circle at Jennersville Regional Hospital, Oxford Senior Center and Roses in Winter. She loved playing bingo at the fire hall. She is survived by one son, William R. Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Norma of Oxford; four daughters, Kay Loretta Hamm of Melbourne, Fla., Geraldine Osborne and her husband Dennis of Oxford, Rebecca Brownback and her husband, Stuart of Nottingham, and Barbara Gibson of Port Deposit, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bertha Moore of Jennersville. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Pamela Westfall; grandson, Michael Thompson; three sisters, Rose Gwaltney, Doris Strall and Elisabeth Lamborn; and two brothers, John Moore, and William Moore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, at Sacred Heart Church, 203 Church Rd., Oxford, PA 19363, where friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Interment will be in Oxford Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., Oxford. On-line condolences may be made at www.elcollinsfuneralhome.com.
