Kathleen Dolores Leary Dodds of West Chester Kathleen Dolores Leary Dodds, 94, died June 24, 2012, at her home in West Chester, surrounded by her family of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 29, at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, West Chester. Private burial will be on June 30, at St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Dodds was born October 15, 1917, in Bethlehem, Pa., to Joseph Leary and Catherine Malloy Leary. She attended Holy Infancy School and Bethlehem Catholic High School, graduating in 1936. She attended Misericordia Nursing School, in Philadelphia. She worked at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital from 1940 until her marriage to Joseph Dodds in 1942. They were married for 45 years until Joseph's death in 1986. Kay worked at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Dunwoody Home in Newtown Square, and the Bryn Mawr Rehab Center. She was a state and private inspector of nursing homes and retired in 1983. She belonged to several professional nursing associations. Kay was a member of the St. Anastasia Seniors group and donated time and effort to charity work. Kay is survived by three daughters, Judy Yancey (Ken), Kathleen Spencer (George), Joanne Dodds-Mueller (William); one son, Joseph Dodds (Regina Pfohl-Dodds); 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
