Lawrence Charles "Larry" Wadsworth

Lawrence Charles Wadsworth of West Chester Lawrence Charles Wadsworth "Larry", beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at home on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Judith McKee Wadsworth, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Berwyn on June 7, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Mae Lillian Diem Wadsworth. He graduated from Tredyffrin-Easttown Schools in 1954. Larry was employed by Verizon for 37 years until his retirement. He was then employed by Grove Methodist Church for 8 years. He was a member of the board of Boy Scout Troop #65 and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He also worked as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and served many years as a volunteer with the Chester County Library. In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his children: Jennifer (W. Boothe) Higgins of Portsmouth, R.I., Rebecca (Mark) Forman of Kedgaon, India, David (Ellen) Wadsworth of Lincoln University, and Carol Lee at home. He is also survived by two sisters: Elaine Bortner and Janet Moulder; and eight grandchildren: L. Boothe Higgins, Patrick Wadsworth, Audrey Higgins, Zachary Higgins, Benjamin Wadsworth, Edward Forman, Grace Wadsworth and Maxwell Higgins. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28th, at Grove United Methodist Church, 490 W. Boot Road, West Chester, where friends and family may call from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
