Marcia Ross Obituary

Marcia R. Ross of West Chester Marcia R. (Savill) Ross of West Chester, passed away at her home on July 16, 2013. She was 81. Born in Coatesville, Marcia earned her bachelor's degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia and worked as a lab technician at Chester County Hospital. Besides her rewarding career in the Chemistry Department of the Chester County Hospital, Marcia ran a very busy homestead in which she and husband, Buck, raised two daughters and played host to numberless cats over the 60 years they lived on Timber Lane. She loved nature, particularly cats and plants. Instead of draperies her entire large sunroom was shaded by a floral display which rivaled some professional horticultural centers. Above all, she loved the feeling of home and when you were her guest that feeling surrounded you. We are certain that it surrounds her where she is now. Marcia is survived by her husband Harlan P. "Buck" Ross, her daughter Amy R. Lovell (David Lovell), son-in-law Steven Jaffe, brother Robert M. Savill, Jr. and grandchildren Ross and Nathan Lovell. She was predeceased by her daughter, Laura R. Jaffe. Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3rd, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1105 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA 19341. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marcia's memory to the Pennsylvania SPCA, Attn: Development, 350 E. Erie Ave., Phila., PA 19134, would be appreciated.
