Marklyn J. Durnell Obituary
Marklyn J. Durnell of West Chester Marklyn J. Durnell, 58, of West Chester, passed on Dec. 28, 2012 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. Born Jan. 3, 1954 in West Chester, he was the son of Phillip and Loretta Durnell. Marklyn attended school in the West Chester Area School District graduating from Henderson High School, class of 1971. He also attended Lincoln University. For approximately ten years, he worked at the Budd Company and afterwards he started his own "handyman" business. He later moved to Wilmington, Del. and while there, he made many friends. Upon his return to West Chester, he became a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church where he was active in adult Sunday school and a men's study group. In addition to his parents, Marklyn leaves to cherish many fond memories, his wife, Esther Irons Durnell; stepdaughter, Shawn Durnell; three grandchildren; two sisters, Terry Graham (Mark) of Lithonia, Ga. and Phyllis Durnell of West Chester; one brother, Phillip Durnell of Allentown; two nieces, four nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His sister, Linda Durnell Casson, preceded him in death. An Uplifting Life Celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 426 W.
