Mary Cirka

Mary Cirka of West Chester Mary Cirka, 93, of West Chester, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Harrison House in Christiana, Pa. She was the widow of Michael Cirka, who died in 2001. Mary was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Picany Popovec. Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, she lived there until her move to West Chester in 1996. She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown, where she was involved in CCD and teaching. Mary is survived by a son, Gerald Cirka and wife Carol of Exton; six grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Michael Popovec, both of Youngstown; and one sister, Helen Popovec of New Mexico. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Ronald Cirka, and a brother, John Popovec. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 29, at St. Agnes Church, 233 West Gay St., West Chester.
