Melinda T. Oakes

Melinda T. Oakes, 65, of West Chester, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit in West Chester.
She was the wife of Robert F. Oakes, with whom she had shared 31 years of marriage.
Born in Minneapolis, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Russell Thompson and the late Patricia Thompson.
Melinda had worked as a quality assurance specialist for more than 25 years at QVC.
She was a founding member of Beth Chaim Reform Congregation.
Melinda enjoyed crafts, making quilts and jewelry.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Laura Honig and Anna-Rachel Oakes; stepson, Matthew Scott Oakes; and grandchildren, Jacob Honig, Benjamin Honig and Jalen Oakes.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the Church of the Loving Shepherd, 1066 S. New St., West Chester, where a reception will follow the service.
Interment will be private.
