Michael D. Jackalous, 33, of West Bradford Township, passed away on Sept. 26, 2012. He missed celebrating his 34th birthday by only three days.
Born in West Chester in 1978, he is the son of Linda Lee and Albert Jackalous.
Michael attended the Child Development Center in Coatesville. He was a client at Brian's House Enterprises where he had many friends and enjoyed working. He was also a member of Compass Point and went to several events with them in the last year. In the past he looked forward to attending Camp Joy every summer.
Michael was a joyful person and everyone he met was his friend. He often told his family "This was the best day ever!" Some days he woke up and told his mother, "This is a perfect day to be happy." He will be sadly missed by all who were touched by his joy.
In honor of Michael's joyful life his family requests that you please wear bright colors to his services.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his siblings, Amanda Lee McGuigan (Paul) and David A. L. Jackalous (Nichole); his nephew, Bryan McGuigan; his grandmother, Eleanor Lee Broadbelt (Norman); and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, immediately followed at noon by his Funeral Service at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 689 Sugartown Road, Malvern. Interment will be in St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michael's name may be made to Compass Point, 335 E. Lancaster Ave., Suite F-12, Downingtown, PA 19335. The gifts will enable other differently able people who are in financial need to attend the Compass Point outings.
Arrangements are by the Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, 610-269-3080.
