Nicholas Richard "Patty" Feconda Obituary
Nicholas Richard "Patty" Feconda of West Chester, Pa. Nicholas Richard "Patty" Feconda passed away peacefully at Brandywine Hall in West Chester on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. He was 89. He was born to the late John & Elizabeth (DiBaptista) Feconda on September 26, 1923 in West Chester. Patty, as he was known to both family and friends, was born in West Chester and attended public school there graduating from West Chester High School. He joined the Army in 1943 and served as a bulldozer operator in the 609th ENGR Light Equipment. He saw service in Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Rhineland and the Ardennes during the war. After the war, he worked as an electrician, joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 654, Chester Pa. in 1957 and retiring in 1985. He was a lifelong member of Saint Agnes RC Church in West Chester. Patty was also a lifetime social member of First West Chester Fire Company. In his younger years, he played in the West Chester Adult Softball League for the "Red Men" team and for Saint Agnes in the Church leagues. He was an avid bowler and bowled in leagues at the West Goshen Lanes twice a week for years. He took up golf in his early forties and played into his eighties. Patty is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores (DeAngelo) of West Chester, sisters Marie Raggazino of Phoenixville and Clara Coppola of Seminole, Florida, sons Michael and his wife Geraldine of East Norriton, and Vincent of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, daughter Diane of West Chester, and grandson, Michael of Hanahan, South Carolina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Berardi (Benny) Feconda of Kennet Square. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. Agnes Church 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, where visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester.
