Phillip A. Potter Jr., 68, of Coatesville, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
He was the husband of Balbina Christian Potter.
Born in Wheeling, W. Va., he was the son of the late Phillip A. Potter Sr. and the late Virginia Weichsel Potter.
Phil was active in the Boy Scouts of America, where he served as a unit commissioner. He also enjoyed model trains and was a member of the NRA.
Phil served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Cortney Potter Dickerson of Downingtown, and Kyle V. Potter of Fairfax, Va. Also survived by a sister Beverly Harris of New Jersey
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home Inc., 410 N. Church St., West Chester, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer , www.pottstownrelayforlife.com (Team Stephanie's Shooting Stars); the SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380; or the Boy Scouts of America.
