Our Rita,
The tide recedes but leaves behind
Bright sea shells on the sand the sun goes down
But gentle warmth still linger on the land
The music stops and yet it echoes on
In sweet reverence for every joy that passes
Something beautiful remains

I found these words that seem to fit Rita,
The tide recedes but leaves behind
Bright sea shells on the sand the sun goes down
But gentle warmth still linger on the land
The music stops and yet it echoes on
In sweet reverence for every joy that passes
Something beautiful remains

Dear Kevin
So sorry for your loss, if I lost my wife I would be devastated and lost as well. When our son Robert went away to college, we were so afraid that he would not come back and be so far away. It was a good education and great experience for him. We were also concerned that he would marry a girl back there and be back once in a while. I guess we were right in that regard. We are so happy that he found such a wonderful wife and have you and Rita to watch over and care for them. Rita was a gift from Heaven to watch over her flock. Your family has been so blessed to have her wings over them. We have really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful things you have done with your families. What a wonderful gift of love you have given to them all. You and Rita have always made us a part of the family when were back there. Thank you so much for that. We have spent a lot of time and effort watching over our girls here on the west coast, their spouses and grandchildren. Due to our constraints we have not been able to be there enough to be a part of your lives to any degree. We have been blessed to have you and Rita to love and be a wonderful part of their lives. My son, as well as your other son-in-laws highly respect you for all the things you do for the family. You have really done a great job with your girls. I sure you will be blessed even more and lean on them more now. They all will miss her for sure.

(37) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (38) For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, (39) neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rita Dowd was the embodiment of a great and godly woman. She could have ruled a kingdom with grace and wisdom. Her absence of body will be a forever ache but her spirit will be felt keenly and held close to our hearts.
Heavenly Father has need of Rita elsewhere, as she accomplished her work here on earth. Rita returns to her heavenly home with all banners waving and all trumpets sounding. God blessed Rita as he blessed us through her. A pearl of great price is she!

There are no words to describe how much Rita will be missed by myself and so many others. She was a devoted friend, a proud mother, grandmother and an angel to kids in our Philly hospitals.

Mr.Dowd, Mare, Becky and Allie-
Words can not express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Mrs. Dowd will always be known in my heart as my 2nd Mom during my teenage years. Mrs. Dowd always knew how to bring a smile to anyone's face at any given time. Please try and take comfort and know that she is in a happy place and will always be there to look after you all, your husbands and her precious grandchildren forever.
