Robert W. "Walt" Johns Jr.

Robert W. 'Walt' Johns, Jr. of West Chester Robert W. 'Walt' Johns, Jr., 95, of West Chester, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Greene Johns, who passed away in 1995. Born in East Lansdowne, he was the son of the late Robert W., Sr. and Katie Griffiths Johns. Walt was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, a graduate of Drexel University and worked as an electrical engineer at United Engineers and Constructors, Inc. in Philadelphia. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed photography and gardening. He liked to spend time on the Chesapeake, canoeing, sailing and boat building. He was a longtime member at the United Methodist Church of West Chester and more recently was a member of Grove United Methodist Church. Walt is survived by his children, Robert W., III (Gayle), Judith Ann (Edward Hunter) and John W. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013, at Grove United Methodist Church, 490 West Boot Rd., West Chester, PA 19380, where the family will receive guests starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
