Robert Ritter Obituary
Robert L. Ritter, 84, of Atglen, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the Lancaster General Hospital.
He was the husband of Edith Hogg Ritter, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on April 7 of this year.
He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Lawrence R. and Kathryn Brown Ritter.
He was a member of Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church of Parkesburg, where he was a member of the choir.
He was a graduate of the former West Fallowfield High School, class of 1948.
He retired from Pillsbury Corp. of Parkesburg.
Bob played trumpet in the Lukens Steel Band for 60 years and also sang in the Gap Male Chorus.
He was the judge of elections for West Fallowfield Township for more than 25 years.
He enjoyed gardening, reading, music and puzzles.
Surviving, besides his wife, are four children, Donna R. Moyer of Quarryville, Robert M. Ritter at home, Kenneth R. Ritter of Washington, D.C., and Thomas D. Ritter of Quarryville; two grandsons, Chris and Shawn Moyer; two great-grandsons, Mitchell and Cody Moyer; and a sister, Audrey R. Wilson of Parkesburg.
A private service will take place at the convenience of the family with burial in the Penningtonville Presbyterian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lukens Steel Band, c/o Michael Givler, 279 Hurley Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
