Dr. Rosemary Powers of Havertown Dr. Rosemary Powers, (nee Redditt) died on July 30, 2012. She was a former Regent of the Chester County Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Dr. Powers taught English at West Chester Henderson and West chester East High Schools for 25 years until 1993. She was also an adjunct professor of English at Villanova, St. Joseph's, Eastern, Cabrini, and Delaware County Community College until her retirement in December of 2011. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Powers, Jr. She was the loving mother of Robert F. (Alma), III, Cecelia Powers Wright, William H. (Susan), James M. (Leslie), Maryellen P. (David) Long, and Madeleine P. (Dennis) O'Dowd; sister of James H. Redditt, and the late Martha Bonham, William L. Redditt, III, Hugh J. Redditt, and Madeleine S. Large. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, and to her Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. in Annunciation BVM Church 410 Brookline Blvd. Havertown, PA 19083.
