Vincent F. Vietri Obituary
Vincent F. Vietri of Coatesville Vincent F. Vietri, 91, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Brandywine Hospital with his family at his side. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. Reach Vietri, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Michael and Soccorsa Autuori Vietri. Vincent was a member of the first graduating class of S. Horace Scott High School in 1941. Upon graduation, he began a three year electrical apprenticeship with Lukens Steel Company. In 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Clemson and USS Runels in the South Pacific theatre, where he was awarded six bronze stars. In 1946 following his military service, he returned to Lukens as an electrician, retiring in 1977. Upon his retirement, he devoted another 30 years working alongside his son, Greg to establish G. A. Vietri, Inc., electrical contractors. Vince enjoyed following many sports, including the Phillies, college football and was a passionate Notre Dame fan. He was a member of the former LGM, Moose Lodge and West End Fire Company. Surviving him, in addition to his wife, Elizabeth, is a daughter, Patricia A. Weller, wife of Charles "Fred" Weller; a son, Gregory A. Vietri and his girlfriend, Karol Collins; a brother, Nicholas Vietri; a sister, Rosalie Valocchi; two grandchildren, Michael T. Weller, husband of Julie and Johni Lynn Bradney, wife of Steven; and four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Darby and John Weller and Quinn Bradney. He was preceded in death by a son, John V. Vietri in 1975; four brothers, Louis, Chester, Armand and Alfred; and a sister, Louise. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 20th, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville. Family and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, May 19th and from 9 to 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA 19320. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville. In his memory, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church at the above address.
