Warren H. Young

Warren H. Young of West Chester Warren H. Young, 71, of West Chester, died peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Rose Ratkovich Young with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Harry A. Young and the late Margaret L. McClelland Young. Warren was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Midland, Pa. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Warren worked as a research technician for Arco Chemical Company in Newtown Square and retired in 1995 after 27 years of service. Known to many as "Buzz", he enjoyed gardening and working around his home. He was a craftsman and will be remembered by his family and friends for the many woodworking projects he did. Buzz was especially fond of making detailed woodcrafts such as trains, antique cars, puzzles and really anything made out of wood. Along with his wife Rose, they enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson on many trips with their friends. Buzz was a certified pyro technician and enjoyed performing professional firework displays with his son-in-law John. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kimberly A. Moravitz (John) of Parkesburg, Michael W. Young (Tina) of Pottstown, and Nicola Torp of Germany, who he thought of as his daughter; grandchildren, Michael J. Crowley, Baily C. Young, Abigail G. Young, Paige C. Young; and siblings, Barry S. Young of Midland, Lee W. Young of Mechanicsburg and Glennann Brown of Mesa, Ariz. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cole Young.
