Winston R. Staats

Winston R. Staats of Conshohocken Winston R. Staats, 72, of Conshohocken, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident in Bryn Mawr. He was born in West Chester on Jan. 10, 1941, son of the late William L. Staats, Sr. and the late Anna (Hurlock) Staats, and grew up in Paoli. Winston, formerly of Paoli, has lived in Conshohocken, for the last 20 years. He graduated from Conestoga High School, class of 1958. Winston served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He worked with the U.S. Postal Service at the Southeastern office in Devon, retiring in 1996. He presently was working with Valley Forge Flowers. He was a life member of Paoli Fire Company, a member of VFW at Gladwyne Post 6956, and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Survivors include his son, Jonathan Staats of Conshohocken; and his twin brother, William L. (and Louise) Staats, Jr. of Wayne. He is also survived by Jonathan's mother, Patricia Lynn Young of Conshohocken; as well as a niece and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Pierce. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14th, from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, with Fr. J. Thomas Heron officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13th and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment, Church Of The Good Samaritan Cemetery of Paoli.
