Angela "Marie" DiSimone Obituary
Angela 'Marie' DiSimone of Berwyn Marie DiSimone (nee Dorsaneo) of Berwyn passed away into eternal peace on March 3, 2013 at home, suddenly, at the age of 86. She was the widow of the late Sabatini F. DiSimone and daughter of the late William and Frances Dorsaneo. She was predeceased by her son Michael P. DiSimone. Marie lived her whole life along the Main Line; Strafford, Devon then finally settling in Berwyn. She was a stay at home mom while her children were young and was involved in many of their activities. Some of these included Den Mother and a member of the Main Line Mothers of Twins Club. She was involved with the National Hemophilia Society, trying to bring awareness to the disease along with fundraising. Marie participated in many ways to help the Berwyn Fire Company and the BFC Ladies Auxiliary Club, including fundraising for equipment and events. There was a special bond between all BFC members regardless of age and she was a part of the family that helped build the firehouse. Marie always chipped in for her community and wherever she saw a need. She worked many jobs throughout her long life, Devon Card and Yarn Shop, Devon Florist, Berwyn Acme and Murray's Secretarial Services to name a few. Most notably, she was a volunteer at Paoli Hospital before starting work there as a file clerk in the X-ray department, from which she eventually retired. Even after retiring, she enjoyed keeping busy and began working part-time for Data Word in PA and Automated Direct Mail Service Center in Fla. assembling direct mail packages. Marie and Sam became snowbirds in 1997 when they bought a place in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. They travelled back and forth together till Sam's passing in 2003. Marie continued to enjoy Florida until just a couple years ago due to health issues. Marie stayed close with the many friends she made over the years; she loved sharing jokes and was always looking for a good laugh. Her hobbies were reading, knitting and napping. Marie is survived by her children, Francis P. DiSimone (Christine), Robert P. DiSimone (Lynda), Stephen M. DiSimone, Joanne T. Bullock, Angela Marie DiSimone (Mark Morgera) and Nancy A. Schwemler (Brian Preston). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7.5 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Anna Falcone and brother William Dorsaneo, in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family are invited to call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 13th, in the Chapel of the Sacred Heart at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Rd., Strafford.
