Ann E. Herley

Ann E. Herley of West Chester Ann E. Herley, 70, of West Chester, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit. She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Irene Kelleher Herley. Ann was a graduate of Villa Maria High School, Immaculata University and West Chester University. She taught in the Coatesville School District for over 30 years. She also taught in Darmstadt, Germany for five years during the Vietnam War. Upon her retirement from Coatesville, Ann taught at Villa Maria Lower School. She continued to teach at Villa Maria and Saint Agnes School as a substitute teacher. Ann was a member of the St. Cecilia Choir as well as Our Lady of the Rosary Choir. In addition, Ann was a member of the Cancer Support Group of St. Cecilia Parish and later St. Peter Parish. Ann recited the Rosary to residents of The Hickman each week. She is survived by her brothers, Louis (Eileen) and Michael (Bettyann); nieces, Jennifer Francis (John) and Melissa Haftl (John); and nephews, Mickey Herley (Erin) and John Herley (Meredith). In addition, Ann is survived by four great-nephews and two great-nieces. Ann also leaves her loving cousins and friends. Ann's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at St. Cecilia Church, 99 N. 6th Avenue, Coatesville, where family and friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Family and friends may also call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Wentz Funeral Home, 342 East Chestnut Street, Coatesville, 610-384-0318.
