Anna Hope McKim Anderson Obituary
Anna Hope McKim Anderson of Avondale, Pa. Anna Hope McKim Anderson, 80, of Avondale, Pa., wife of Purnell C. Anderson, Jr., passed on Wed-nesday, September 12, 2012. Born February 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late H. Earl and Frances M. Smith McKim. She attended Avon Grove High School graduating with the class of 1951. Anna grew up attending Enon Baptist Church in West Grove. She later joined Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Zion Church in 1990 where she served as a missionary, deaconess, usher, adult Sunday school teacher, member of the Christian Education Board and class leader. She was a mentor to many and she lived her life for the Lord. She was a former member of Kennett Square Senior Center. About twenty years ago, she started as an artist, enjoying all mediums and occasionally had shows at the Senior Center. She also enjoyed sports, especially the Phillies. She loved reading, traveling the world and participating in many causes, especially muscular dystrophy. Following all of her children and grandchildren's activities brought her great enjoyment. She was a family person. Surviving besides her husband of 57 years, are her children, Kevin P. Anderson (Alisa), Debra A. Hill (William) and Jill A. Vincolato (Anthony), Kimberly A. Rivers (Carlyle), Jeffrey B. Anderson (Leah), Corey E. Anderson (Kandi); twelve grandchildren, Michael Phipps, Adrienne Hill, Jennifer Hill, Kristin Hill, Karis (Anderson) Lane, Kellon Anderson, Sarah Anderson, Joshua Anderson, Haley Anderson, Lauryn Vincolato, Noah Anderson, Nicholas Vincolato; four great grandchildren, Kayla Hill, Cassidy Phipps, Aubrey Garrison, Amare Garrison; one sister, Elizabeth M. Baker; four broth- ers, Elder E. Richard McKim, William T. McKim, Robert S. McKim and Gerald S. McKim and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Eric (Ricky) S. Anderson; granddaughters, Andrea (Andi) H. Rivers and Brianna E. Anderson; one brother, Harold O. McKim and three sisters, F. Dorothy McKim, Eva M. Kelly and Ruthann M. Bowers. A service of celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Zion Church, 314 Church Street, Avondale, Pa. Prior to the service, two viewings will be held, first viewing on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 4 to 6 p.m. and second viewing on Monday, September 17, 2012, 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Union Hill Cem- etery, Kennett Square, Pa.
