Arthur W. Fairchild Obituary
Arthur W. Fairchild of Coatesville Arthur W. Fairchild, 80, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester. He was the husband of the late Mary Janice Fairchild (nee Lewis), with whom he had shared 41 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 1997. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Lyle E., Sr. and Josephine Riedlinger Fairchild. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, earning the Army Occupation Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was employed as a steel slitter operator for Worthington Steel for 20 years, retiring in 1997. Mr. Fairchild was an avid Phillies fan, and loved to watch NCIS, John Wayne westerns and old war movies. He is survived by his sons, Paul D. Fairchild and wife, Brenda, of Downingtown, and Arthur D. Fairchild of Ephrata. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kimberly Smith, Brit Fairchild, Jessica Fairchild, Jaclyn Bernardo and A. J. Fairchild; and by great-grandchildren, Lucas and Alexa Smith, Wesley, Nathan and Logan Bernardo. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Lyle Fairchild, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14th, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Chester Springs.
