Bruce E. Rodger Esq. of Unionville Bruce E. Rodger, Esq. of Unionville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 21, 2013. He was 59 years old. Born in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of Alexander and Charlotte Rodger (nee Sponsel). Bruce attended Nether Providence High School and obtained his B.A from Bucknell University in 1975 and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1978. He met and married his wife, Mary (nee Struble) at the University of Pittsburgh and the couple later settled in Chester County. Bruce practiced law for over 30 years in Delaware County, and was co-founder and past president of the Guy G. deFuria American Inn of Court, former president of the Delaware County Bar Association, and served seven years on the National American Inns of Court Foundation's Board of Trustees. A devoted husband, loving father, and enthusiastic friend to all who knew him, Bruce was dedicated above all to his family. Together with his wife, he raised three children Alex, Emily and Erica "Teddy" Rodger. In addition to practicing law, he was a skilled photographer, avid golfer, and champion of those in need. He is most remembered for his good humor and kind heart. Bruce will be forever missed. He was the beloved husband for 34 years of Mary Struble Rodger; father of Alex B. Rodger of Kitts Hummock, Del., Emily Rodger Barber of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Erica "Teddy" Rodger of Brooklyn, N.Y.; son of Alex M. Rodger of Longwood; and brother of Ken Rodger of Keystone, Colo. and Byron Rodger of Coventry, R.I. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 109 E. Doe Run Road, Unionville, PA 19375.
