Carl Norman Walker Obituary
Carl Norman Walker of Philadelphia Carl Norman Walker, 70, of Philadelphia, husband of the late Effie White Walker, passed on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013. Born Sept. 9, 1942 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Wayman Walker Sr. and Gussie Mae Williams Walker. During the Vietnam era, Carl served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Biddle and for thirty years, IBM employed him as a field engineer. He was a member of St. Paul's Baptist Church where he served as a trustee for many years. He is survived by two daughters, Courtney N. Walker of Norcross, Ga. and Jocelyn L. Walker Dobbins (Kenneth Carl) of Apex, N.C.; two sisters, Vivian D. Morgan (James) of Wayne and Patricia Ann Porter of Havertown; and a host of other relatives and friends. His brother, Wayman "Deck" Walker Jr., precedes him in death. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at St. Paul's Baptist Church, One Hagerty Blvd., West Chester. A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Gulph Christian Church Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
