Catherine A. Bannan of West Chester Catherine A. Bannan, 93, of West Chester, died Sunday March 31, 2013, at St. Martha Manor in Downingtown. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Bannan, Jr. for 61 years, who died in 2001. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late James Dooley and the late Annie Murphy Dooley. Catherine attended St. Agnes School and worked at Wyeth Labs in West Chester for 34 years. After retiring she spent time taking care of her husband and dog Rover. She also enjoyed her four granddaughters and their children. She loved to read, take care of her house, cook and making banana bread. She was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church and the Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Kessel and her husband Joe of West Chester; granddaughters, Amanda DiIenno and her husband Robert of Paoli, Cadince Kessel of Downingtown, Elizabeth Kessel of Downingtown, Josette Levey and her husband Shane of West Chester; six great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Jacob, Nelaina, Nicholas, Gabriel, and James; and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 East Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, PA 19382. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery West Chester. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe Church at the above address.
