Charles John Krallinger of West Chester Charles J. Krallinger of West Chester, born in Newport News, Va., died May 23, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. Charles was the son of the late Boris O. Krallinger and the late Agnes Huber Krallinger. He attended St. Agnes and was a proud graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School in 1960. He served as a Supply Sergeant in the West Chester National Guard. Charles was well known in the mushroom industry for 52 years. He began his career at Grocery Store Products, a division of Clorox Co. located in West Chester, continued his career with J.B. Swayne Spawn Company located in Kennett Square and was currently employed with Giorgo Foods located in Reading. Charles was a member of the American Mushroom Institute and a lifetime member of the American Trap Shooting Association and the West Chester Gun Club. An avid trap shooter, he participated in the American Trap Shooting Tournament in 1970 and tied with five other shooters for 1st place breaking 98 out of 100 targets and in the shootout he came in 3rd place. He was also a member of the West Chester Fire Company and the West Chester Golf & Country Club since 1993. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Ruthann Tyrrell Krallinger, loving daughter, Amelia Krallinger Barber, his cherished grandson, Chad Roland Barber, Jr., and his sister who he adored, Mary Louise Krallinger Voge and brother-in-law, John Paul Voge. Besides his parents, the late Boris and Agnes Krallinger, he was also preceded by his late son-in-law, Chad Roland Barber, Sr. Charles was a compassionate, loving, loyal and devoted man to not only his family, but friends, colleagues and his career. He touched the lives of so many and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass, 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA 19380. Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 N.
