Christopher "Chris" Michael Long, 33, of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013.|
Born on Jan. 28, 1980, he was the son of John Long Sr. of Honey Brook and Donna Taylor of Parkesburg.
Chris, who was known to his friends as "Pipe," had previously worked as a machinist for Roberts Industries.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved singing Led Zeppelin karaoke and enjoyed camping, and his favorite places to go were to the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and Elk Neck State Park.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by a stepmother, Judy Long of Honey Brook; stepfather, Jim Taylor of Parkesburg; maternal grandmother and grandfather, Jessie Taylor and Mr. Bill of Coatesville; brother, John Long Jr., husband of Sheila of Coatesville; sister, Jodi Mack, wife of Matthew of Lititz; sister, Tracey Stewart of Akron; sister, Christina Benson of Coatesville; sister, Kimberly Long of California; sister, Rachael Long of Parkesburg; brother, James Taylor of Parkesburg; stepsister, Lori Tyndall of Honey Brook; many nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and great-nephews. Chris had a close and loving relationship with his nephew Cash and niece Kyla. He enjoyed spending time with them playing and wading in the creek, along with his dog Cammie, his best friend.
A memorial service will be held at the Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home at noon on Wednesday June 12, with a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chester County SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
