Claribelle Dent Wicks of Malvern Claribelle Dent Wicks, 92, of Malvern passed away after a short illness last Monday, Feb. 18, 2013. She was predeceased by Ishmael L. Wicks, her husband of 66 years. She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Rae McCully of Shirley, Massachusetts and Malvern and her son, Thomas Wicks, of Bellevue, Washington. Claribelle was born on Aug. 3, 1920 in Columbia, S.C. She attended the University of South Carolina and then worked as executive secretary for the City Attorney of Columbia. She also worked for the South Carolina State Board of Health. A devoted wife and mother, she spent many years volunteering for church, school, and community activities. After having moved to Charlotte, N.C. in 1958, Claribelle began working for the company that became ExxonMobil Corporation where her husband worked. In 1969 they were transferred to Pennsylvania. In 1978 Claribelle retired and once again became a homemaker. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at Mauger-Givnish Funeral Home, 24 Monument Ave., Malvern. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Mauger-Givnish. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions to a memorial fund may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 4600 Daniel Drive, Columbia, South Carolina, 29206. www.maugergivnish.com
