Curtis Dale Cox, Jr., of Hockessin, Del. and formerly of Coatesville, Pa. Curtis Dale Cox, Jr., 59, of Hockessin, Del. and formerly of Coatesville, Pa., passed away on September 11th, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Lynn Marie Cox for 42 years. Born on September 29, 1952, he was the son of Marian Hoover Cox and Curtis Dale Cox, both of Coatesville, Pa. Curt is survived by a son, Timothy Dale Cox, husband of Kimberly Ann Jones Cox of Lancaster, Pa.; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Cox Moore, wife of Eric Benjamin Moore, of Avondale, Pa.; and his siblings, Bonnie Young, Patricia Gilmore, Brenda Hillard, Randy Cox and Brian Cox. Curt was the very proud grandfather of Jared Curtis Cox, Christopher Dale Cox, Julianne Marie Cox, Brooklynn Marie Moore and Evan Curtis Moore. Curt was employed by Lukens Steel in Coatesville, Pa. for 12 years, General Motors of Wilmington, De. for 24 years and was a current employee of Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics of Newark, Del. Curt enjoyed participating in many sports since the age of 6, but his true passion was softball. He played softball for over 40 years and currently was the League Commissioner of the Chester County Senior Modified Softball League. Curt was an outstanding outfielder and true team player, contributing on many championship teams. Most important to Curt was the time he spent with family, especially the summer vacations at Lake Raystown. He welcomed any opportunity to spoil his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed. Friends and family are invited to Curt's memorial service on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Hephzibah Baptist Church, 2237 Strasburg Road, Coatesville, PA 19320, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. The visitation will take place at the church from 10 until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 310, White Plains, NY 10605.
