Obituary Condolences

Denise A. Rotko of Unionville Denise A. Rotko, 64, passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2013 at Penn's Rittenhouse Hospice in Philadelphia. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anne Hickey (nee Patterson). Denise moved from the Buffalo area to Bethlehem, Pa. when she was a teenager. She obtained her R.N. from Somerville Hospital School of Nursing and then her B.S.N. in 1973 and her M.S.N in 1976 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing where she was a member of the faculty. She later taught nursing at Widener University. Denise and her husband Michael built their home and farm on the former King Ranch property in the late 1980s and lived there since. She became an accomplished equestrian and farm manager who loved her farm, many horses, skiing, and travel with her family and friends. Denise was a vital life force to all who knew and loved her. She is survived by Michael, her husband of 33 years; two children, Hannah and Daniel; two step- sons, Thomas Rotko (and Lauren) of Port Washington, N.Y. and William Rotko (and Carol) of New York, N.Y.; her two sisters, Pamela Funk (and Thomas) of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Mary Beth Rusiewicz (and Leonard) of Coopersburg, Pa.; five step-grandchildren and two nieces.
