Donald Lloyd Taylor of West Chester Donald Lloyd Taylor died at home on March 27, 2012. He was 76. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Janet; son Peter and wife Christine of Downingtown, son John and wife Maureen of West Chester, and son Paul of New York City. He also had 10 grandchildren: Daniel, Jessica, Michael and Bryan children of Peter and Christine and Johnny, Aileen, Mary, Patrick Julia, and Catherine, children of John and Maureen. He is also survived by his brother, Leslie Lincoln Taylor of Springfield. Don was born in Upper Darby, graduated from Springfield High School, Mercersburg Academy, and Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont. While at Middlebury, he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity, played football and was co-captain of the lacrosse team. He was also an avid skier. He served in the U.S. Army after graduation and after being discharged he began working at AT&T where he remained for his entire career, retiring in 1997. Don loved the beach and spent many summers while growing up in Ocean City, N.J. and later in Martha's Vineyard. He enjoyed playing sports all his life and reveled beating his sons in tennis and squash and confounding his friends on the golf course. He encouraged and coached his grandkids and attended all their sporting events from peewee soccer to indoor basketball. Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service 11 a.m. Tuesday April 3, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 West Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester PA 19382. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. In memory of Don, contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, at the above address, where Don was a long time member.
