Dorotha H. Anderson, 87, of Honey Brook, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Chester County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Roy R. Anderson, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.|
Born in Highwater, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lewis G. and Margaret McCullough Heft.
She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati, and was a registered nurse for many years, retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Anderson was a very active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and served the church in many capacities. She volunteered at Tel Hai Retirement Community and for Meals on Wheels. She loved her flowers and was an avid gardener. She was a lover of animals, especially her dog, Mick. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jane A. Haass (Randal) of Brownsville, WI, Lynne A. Huenink of Gap, Ted L. Anderson (Robbin) of Wallingford, Thomas R. Anderson (Kristie) of West Chester, and Todd C. Anderson (Iris) of Downingtown. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her sister, Louise Clayton.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 12, at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 852 Hopewell Road, Downingtown, PA 19335. Interment will be private.
