Edward F. Slaughter Obituary
Edward F. Slaughter of Exton Edward F. Slaughter, 80, of Exton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012 at Wellington Terrace. He was the beloved husband of Patricia C. (nee Walker) Slaughter, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Raised in Bronx, N.Y., Ed was a graduate of Dewitt Clinton High School. He then proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Before his retirement, Ed was employed as a technical writer for Curtiss-Wright and Plessey Dynamics, both in N.J. He was active in the Prime Timers of St. Joseph Church in Downingtown and the Senior Circle Chapter of the Brandywine Hospital. Ed was an avid card player and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and traveling. He was a huge NY Giants fan and loved spending time with his family. The family wished to extend their gratitude for the wonderful care at Bryn Mawr Rehab, Wellington Terrace, and Compassionate Care Hospice. In addition to his wife, Mr. Slaughter is survived by his daughters, Jean Reimer and her husband, Keith, and Karen Welles and her husband, Jeffrey, all of Downingtown; five grandchildren, Paul (Amy), Meredith (Joseph), Jordan, Scott and Mark; and three great-grandchildren, Carter, Jake and Courtney. A memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30th at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Rd., West Brandywine, where family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, West Brandywine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Eastern Chapter, 225 City Ave., Suite 104, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
