Emilie P. Maxton, formerly of Ickesburg Emilie P. Maxton, 91 years old, formerly of Ickesburg, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Stonebridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Duncannon. She was born March 16, 1920 in Downingtown to Jesse W. and Mary (Crosby) Pollock. She was a member of the Faith United Church, Ickesburg and had been active in the former Ickesburg United Church of Christ and its Ladies Guild. She was a graduate of West Chester High School in 1937, and with honors, from Ursinus College in 1941. She was certified to teach English, French, Latin and German. She enjoyed reading, cooking, dairy farming and was a very devoted mother to her children, especially to her son, Billy. Emilie was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Maxton in 1995 and is survived by her children, Jesse W. Maxton and wife Barbara of Mifflintown, Norman G. Maxton of Ickesburg, William E. Maxton of Duncannon and Susan M. LeFebvre and husband Alan of Harleysville, sister, Ruth Woods of Woodland Hills, Calif., six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Rebecca Maxton. Family and friends are invited to services on Friday, November 4, at Faith United Church, Ickesburg, with the funeral at 10 a.m. There is a time of visitation from 9 until the service. Burial will follow in the Windsor Baptist Church Cemetery in Eagle.
