Emma Simmler Bramble of West Chester Emma Simmler Bramble, 95, of West Chester, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Barclay Friends in West Chester. She was the widow of Edward Bramble. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Janet Dawson Simmler. She lived in the West Chester area her entire life. Emma and her husband, Ed, owned and operated Ed and Emma's Restaurant on Route 322 on the western outskirts of West Chester. They opened the restaurant in 1949 and operated it for 33 years, retiring in 1982. Upon retirement, she worked at Dunkin Donuts in West Chester. She was a big Eagles and Phillies fan during both the good and difficult times for the teams. Emma is survived by a daughter-in-law, Beverly Bramble of Kennett Square, and two granddaughters, Leslie E. Kelczewski and her husband, Glen of Boyertown and Rebecca S. Bramble of Newark, Delaware. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Joseph Bramble who died in 2011, a brother, Andrew Simmler, and a sister, Catherine Burnett. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610-696-0134, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Pine Swamp Cemetery in Elverson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Barclay Friends, 700 North Franklin Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
