Frances Butera Spaziani Obituary
Frances Butera Spaziani of West Chester Frances Butera Spaziani of West Chester died on Oct. 2, 2013 at the age of 102. She was the wife of the late L. Lawrence Spaziani with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. She was born Frances Jane Butera, to the late Thomas Butera and Mary Montalbano Butera in Norristown on Sept. 9, 1911. She was a graduate of Norristown High School. Frannie worked in various positions in Norristown prior to her marriage. During World War II, she worked as a secretary for the United States Army Signal Corps in Newport News, Va. and Fort Meade, Md. She also was co-owner with her husband of the "Chalk N Cue" in West Chester in the 1960's. Frances took great pride in her role as a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She was inquisitive, forward looking and a good judge of character and life. She enjoyed beauty of all kinds, particularly nature and flowers. Frannie loved to cook, sew, read and tend to her garden. She was a Roman Catholic and a member of St. Agnes Parish. Fran is survived by her sons, Lawrence T. Spaziani (Joanna) of West Chester and Joseph C. Spaziani (Stephanie) of Viera, Fla.; her daughter Mary Jane Corabi (Joseph) of West Chester; and has six grandchildren, Todd Spaziani, Joseph Corabi, Dominic Corabi, Angela Corabi, Diana Corabi, Valerie Corabi and great- granddaughter, Paige Corabi-Pinkston. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 N. Church St. West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, PA 19380. Interment will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Barclay Friends Employee Fund, 700 N. Franklin St. West Chester, PA 19380.
